It was very good, Evening / Night staff very supportive and helpful. We’ve got a very good welcome at the front desk. Unfortunately it was not possible to do a late check-out after 1 pm.

Worn old hotel but well located

This is a dated hotel that shows its age and was grossly overpriced for what I paid for a night there last March. The biggest thing in favour of the hotel is that an entrance to the Piazza Venezia metro is literally outside the front door. Apart from that, I cannot find much to recommend the hotel for. Overall, the room is of a lower standard and smaller than two-thirds of the Ibis hotels I've stayed in. I paid about €200 for a room on the fourth floor, with no elevator access (you need to drag your luggage up and down two flights of stairs from floor three to four), looking out on a dismal view of parts of people's houses about 20 feet away. That rate did not include breakfast. I paid about €16 for that separately, not knowing it was not a traditional buffet. It's served in the restaurant next door. You money gets you eggs, juice, coffee, and only a snarl from the waitress (who barked "What do you want?" when she came to my table to take my order) if you're lucky. In a similar vein, I ran into an especially grouchy housekeeping exec on the way in heading to my room after check in. The bathroom was more than half the size of the room and included a bidet. The room was tiny and the single bed moved about if your legs touched it while walking around. The pillows were thin. The window didn't really open more than a few inches, which is probably for the best, considering the view. If somehow you do manage to get it open far enough to accommodate your body, you can step onto a tiny balcony ledge and take in the view. The minibar, which I was informed was complimentary, had water, thankfully, and some junk snacks and fizzy drinks. I only have myself to blame for the rate I paid (months in advance). When I looked at the fare for the day on the Accor app after checking in, I found it was about half what I'd paid. I asked if I could have late check-out, since I had an evening flight from Malpensa, and was told it would not be possible because they were fully booked, though there were at least two base category rooms going from what I could see when I tried to make a dummy booking. Speaking of which, there was no acknowledgement of Accor status in any way whatsoever. A minor plus is, they will hold your luggage for you, and there are well-kept bathrooms in the basement you can use after checking out. Wifi was just about adequate. It's strange how a hotel of this class gets away with calling itself a Mercure, when it might struggle to make even the Ibis cut in some regards. Wouldn't stay here again under any circumstances if I could help it.

Well located with the metro station right in front of the hotel. Good if you want to shop as Corso Buenos Aires is just a very short walk away. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Great place to stay.

Perfectly located to get around Milan

We had a lovely stay here. Rooms not huge but completely adequate, nicely decorated, clean and with ample storage. Complementary water, soft drinks and snacks topped up daily. Staff on arrival and check out were great. Hotel doing a bit of a refurbishment so no bar/dining facilities however this hotel is right next to a variety of bars, restaurants and shopping choices. We didn’t book breakfast so that we could sample elsewhere which worked out ideally (hotel did offer breakfast a next door restaurant if we’d wanted). This hotel is a perfect location to get around Milan, whether on foot, metro or hop on hop off bus, which picks up along the road at P.de Venezia (blue line) and gets you to the castle and cathedral to pick up other lines.
