"Quiet Retreat”

A lovely, quiet, spacious, if slightly dated, hotel, great for families and people who love chocolate! The rooms are spacious, and the 2 large pools are more than enough for the hotel, especially considering the villas have their own plunge pools. They make up for the thin strip of beach that disappears at high tide. The 10-15 minute drive from central Hua Hin is easily negotiated by the free hotel bus that runs three times a day or a Grab taxi. Overall certainly a place to visit for people/families looking for a spacious retreat with the options of Hua Hin not far away.

The hotel gardens are beautiful, but it is located far from the town itself, even if a bus shuttle service is put on, we found the timings quite awkward. We were disappointed in a number of areas, we were not greeted or spoke to by staff members through out our stay, at times we felt like an inconvenience. When arrived we had to carry our own bags out of the taxi and up to reception then back down the steps to the golf kart. While bell boys sat on their phones, our room was only cleaned once out of the 5 days we stayed and when we called and asked for it to be cleaned we waited 2 hours and then had to go to reception to ask someone to come. If we needed help/assistance, we where meet with 'you check out today' even through we booked for 5 nights 6 days. The pool that is sat away from the main pool, beach area could have been maintained better, there was a lot of flowers. leaves in the pool the sun bed covers where old and dirty and the floor was equally dirty. I felt that the hotel was very understaffed and it did not feel like a 5* resort. Disappointing stay!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa in Hua Hin and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and were incredibly friendly throughout our stay, making us feel genuinely welcome. The rooms were absolutely lovely—spacious, impeccably clean, and elegantly decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. Meals at the resort were a highlight too; each dish was not only delicious but beautifully presented, making every dining experience enjoyable. Overall, our time at the Mövenpick Asara was fantastic and we left with great memories. It’s definitely a top recommendation for anyone visiting Hua Hin!
