Stated for 2 night April 2024. Start to finish an excellent experience. Ample parking, room very clean, staff could not do enough for you, ate at the Carter & Fitch twice, we enjoyed it that much. Plenty breakfast choices. Highly recommend.

Poor communication on check in which meant no chance of eating in the restaurant I was coerced into authorising a £50 charge card for (you had to book, or forget it), nothing else around so had to get fast food. Pool was grubby and inaccessible unless you stood and waited for someone to let you in (random QR code on paper handed to me on check in didn’t work) and locker use is £1 which wasn’t communicated. Room was barely clean and the furthest away from the entrance down two flights of stairs and through 5/6 doors, tea and coffee missing. Heating kicking in at 5am meant banging pipes that sounded like somebody trying to break the window. Housekeeping tried to let themselves in after knocking (banging) and waiting all of 1 second for an answer, thankfully I’d put the chain and the extra lock on. All in all just awful. Won’t be coming back.

Please allow me to address each of your concerns: Communication on check-in: We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the lack of communication regarding restaurant bookings. The team should be discussing this, and where possible, booking tables to avoid disappointment. I am sorry to hear this did not happen on this occasion. The £50 charge card authorisation is completely at your discretion. Many of our guests choose to pay for additionals as they go and so the pre-authorisation is not required. These additionals could include breakfast if not already booked, drinks at the bar, room service, spa treatments or golf activities as well as restaurant food and drink). We will review our procedures to ensure that such information is clearly communicated to guests in the future. We regret that you were unable to book a table in our restaurant. The restaurant gets very busy and so, like many restaurants, prior booking is always advised. This can be done directly on our website, or at the hotel directly subject to availability I was sorry to hear that you struggled to gain access to the gym. After investigating, it seems perhaps we could update the wording on the QR slip to instruct guests to hold the QR code an inch or so from the reader as holing too close means it can not be scanned. With regards to the cleanliness issues you encountered, I have addressed this with the team. I am unable to verify any cleanliness issues myself, however this will be monitored closely to ensure no further issues. Our Spa and Leisure facility is usually maintained at a high standard and I apologise if we have let ourselves down on this occasion. We are also in the process of changing the locks on the lockers to allow them to be accessed via a pin code, removing the requirement for a £1 coin. We apologise for the cleanliness issues in your room and the inconvenience of its location. We will address these cleanliness concerns with our housekeeping team and review our room allocation process to ensure that all guests are accommodated appropriately. We apologise for any disturbance caused by the heating system and the noise from the pipes. We will investigate these issues and take appropriate measures to minimize any disruptions to our guests' sleep. Your privacy and security are of utmost importance to us, and we will reinforce our Housekeeping procedures to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. We understand your decision not to return, but we hope that you will consider giving us another chance to provide you with a more enjoyable stay in the future. We stayed over along with a number of other Club Members after a Motoring Run up from London. The stay was excellent, my partner had datary issues and the staff could not have been more helpful to meet her special requirements and to enable her to feel included with the rest of the group at the evening meal. they also ensured that we had a ground floor room due to mobility issues. Staff were excellent and very helpful.

After having a bad experience at this hotel in June 2023 thanks to booking.com... I decided this time to book direct with the hotel and stayed for 1 night on Friday 12th April. I booked the family room (with 2 beds) for extra space, instead we got a better room. The staff were friendly and helpful as always. The food was amazing as always, although the desserts were not the best and need a little bit of work. Went in the pool and jacuzzi and was amazing. Beds were comfy and my partner loved the fact the room had a bath so she could have a soak. The breakfast was amazing. The woman explained that normally it would be a buffet breakfast, but as there were only a few guests staying, the fry up would come direct from the kitchen. This was awesome as it meant the food was hot and fresh. There was also plenty of other food on offer for breakfast if you didn't want the hot food. All in all, it was an awesome time and we will be booking again in the next few months. If you are just looking for a quiet night away from the kids or even stopping overnight while passing through the area, this is the place to stay. 12 out of 10 in my opinion.
